Below are the top threads from ten tears ago on the Print4Pay Hotel forums. Hard to believe it's been 10 years since we had the Connectivity CafÉ from Ricoh.

Rosa Parks, whose famous refusal in 1955 to surrender her bus seat to a white man in Montgomery, Alabama triggered a bus-boycott and the beginning of the modern U.S. civil rights movement, died at the age of 92. The recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom was known to have suffered from dementia. Sources state that she died at her home in Detroit of natural causes. (Bloomberg) (ClickOnDetroit.com).

It was interesting to read one of the threads that I posted below. It's been ten years since Ricoh changed from their old logo to the new logo which we see today.
Hawaii, represented by Ewa Beach, Hawaii, defeats Willemstad, CuraÇao 7-6 in the Little League World Series. Other than that, not much else for the last week in the summer of 2005!
Disneyland celebrates its 50th Anniversary.
I love Disneyland!!!
Operation Red Wings, a counterterrorism mission in Kunar province, Afghanistan, involving four U.S. Navy SEAL members, took place. Three of the SEALs were killed during the operation, whilst a fourth was protected by local villagers and was rescued by the US military. In addition, an MH-47 Chinook helicopter carrying 8 Nightstalkers - members of the Army's elite 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (SOAR) - and 8 US Navy SEALs was shot down while attempting to come to their rescue to provide extraction in the mountains of the Kunar province, Afghanistan. How cool is this? A time traveler convention.
The Time Traveler Convention was held at MIT, in the hopes of making contact with time travelers from the future. The convention was organized by Amal Dorai with help from current and former residents of the MIT living group Pi Tau Zeta. The convention was held at 22:45 EDT at the East Campus Courtyard and in Walker Memorial at MIT. That location is 42.360007 degrees north latitude, 71.087870 degrees west longitude. The spacetime coordinates continue to be publicized prominently and indefinitely, so that future time travelers will be aware and have the opportunity to have attended.

Geesh, now ten years does not seem that along ago when you look at some of the model numbers posted in these threads!. Back in 2005, meant that I had been selling Ricoh products for just about 7 years. This year will mark 17 years selling Ricoh products. Don't they give out some type of award for that? Cause I'm all about awards. Enjoys some of the popular threads from ten years ago this week!
Interesting first thread here "Have we won already over HP?". Holy cow, it's been ten years since the infamous launch of the....? Can you remember the name of that device? Alas, for the life of me I can't remember either. Someone help me out here! No wait, I got it, it was the Edgeline!
Seems 10 years later HP is going to re-inent the color wide format market with it's "pagewide" technology. Hahaha, not at a cost of 40-75K for the system.
What a difference 10 years can make right? Ten years ago, I was in the money with the Ricoh 240W. There was nothing else like it, we held margins, sold a boat load of systems and make excellent commissions. Alas, everything comes to and end, by 2006 the industry had caught up and then 07 was the start of the economic melt down.

There was not much happening in the news 10 years ago this week. I thought I would do my own flash back for January of 2005. I don't keep notes but with having data on the threads from the forums from 10 years ago, the threads do spark the memory. Ricoh wide format was huge!!! I for one was selling two of these each month and maxing out with Gross Profit. I would day that the average gross profit was $7,000 per system. Yes, it was good times!!!! FYI, the picture on the left is Sandals in Saint Lucia!!
