Arcoa Group

Why partnering with ARCOA makes sense
Electronics Recycling is an important and profitable part of the IT asset lifecycle, but it can be overwhelming with all you already do, varying state regulations, and the limited resources at hand. That’s where ARCOA comes in. When you partner with ARCOA, you get all the benefits of a big company without any of the capital investment. We’ve been doing this since 1989 and have the expertise, certifications, and nationwide resources to get the most for all your clients’ retired IT assets. Plus, positioning your clients as environmental stewards not only elevates their appeal to consumers, it meets government requirements and avoids fines.

What partnering with ARCOA looks like
Our role is to make it easy for you to bring more value to your clients. We work with you to help stretch your clients’ IT budget by reducing the total cost of ownership of their electronics. We’re experts at identifying and implementing the solutions your clients need for the end-of-use remarketing, recovery, and recycling of their technology assets. The sooner you involve ARCOA, the sooner you and your clients.

Aftermarket software the would eliminate NCR

Emie_gran ·
I have a client that's processing a lot of invoices on a color mfp. This process has increased their maintenance pricing. The customer is thinking of getting a matrix printer and buying NCR paper. I was thinking if we could find 3rd party software that would allow them to print the first invoice in color and the other 3 copies in black and white, I might be able to increase the value proposition of adding new equipment. Any ideas?

Attention Sales World... Are You Growing The Competition's Next Great Client? Think About It!

"Give whatever you are doing and whoever you are with the gift of your attention."
Jim Rohn

Whether you are a sales leader or a salesperson, I ask you to think about your clients... Are you giving them the attention needed to grow the relationship, grow their business and to enhance your sales results?

In our time together, I would like for you to keep in the back of your mind the following...

The ways in which you pay attention to your clients will determine the experiences they have. Conversely, these experiences will determine the quality of your sales lives.

Question becomes, what are all of you paying attention to?

To reinforce this point, allow me to take all of you back to 1890. In the book The Principles of Psychology, Vol.1, William James wrote a powerful statement packed with meaning: “My experience is what I agree to attend to.”

Therefore, if your experiences are based on what you agree to attend to, then the same philosophy can be applied to your clients and the experiences they have with you, or what they attend to with you.

The simple act of paying attention and the way in which it's performed, James cites, is what sets geniuses apart from ordinary people. Could this be what sets sales professionals apart from sales reps?

James further stresses...

"Sustained attention is the easier, the richer in acquisitions and the fresher and more original the mind.In such minds, subjects bud and sprout and grow. At every moment, they please by a new consequence and rivet the attention afresh. But an intellect unfurnished with materials, stagnant, unoriginal, will hardly be likely to consider any subject long.A glance exhausts its possibilities of interest. Geniuses are commonly believed to excel other men in their power of sustained attention… Their ideas coruscate, every subject branches infinitely before their fertile minds, and so for hours they may be rapt."

Focus your attention back to the above quote and the underlined sentences. This quote is over 130 years old and is massively applicable to the sales world today.

Sustained attention over time is easier. Are you bringing fresh ideas, new perspectives and originality to your clients; to bud, sprout and grow the relationship? Is every new interaction with your clients riveting and afresh?

The flip side, an intellect (let's call it what it is, a sales rep) unfurnished with materials, stagnant, and unoriginal, will hardly keep the attention of their clients.

Attention combined with experiences will determine if your clients stay or if they go elsewhere.

Let's continue our journey together.

When it comes to business development, it's a delicate balance and blending of prospecting for new business while retaining and growing your client base.

Choosing what you pay attention to or how you divvy up your time can be challenging, as you and I know both know how busy you all are running around doing "stuff".

Research continually shows us that it costs businesses significantly more to acquire new clients as opposed to retaining them. Successful businesses, leadership and their salespeople understand the importance of providing and continually creating outstanding client experiences.

Customers rely on their emotional experiences with salespeople more than any of the traditional factors, according to research by the Peppers & Rogers Group, which showed:

  • 60% of all customers stop dealing with a company because of what they perceive as indifference on the part of salespeople.
  • 70% of customers leave a company because of poor service, which is usually attributed to a salesperson.

What this reinforces is the importance that attitude and emotion play in determining whether your clients leave or stay. It’s mission critical for you to understand your client's attitudes and regularly collect their feedback.

In a recent article titled, "What is CX?" by McKinsey & Company, they dove deep into why customer experience matters. McKinsey hit head on the importance of enhancing the customer experience and why in the B2B market sector it is so vital.

  • Relationships often go deeper in B2B
  • There are longer, more complex B2B journeys involving more individuals
  • Customization is more widespread in B2B
  • The stakes are usually higher in B2B deals, as individual B2B customer relationships are often worth millions of dollars
"The majority of B2B customers we surveyed say they will actively look for another supplier if their main needs are not met."
McKinsey & Company

As we dive deeper into our journey together, chew on this... Why do your clients do business with you?

Is it because they feel valued and well taken care of? I guarantee the “why” will have monumental impact to you, and the loyalty of your clients.

ARE YOU TAKING YOUR RELATIONSHIPS FOR GRANTED?

"Life is a precious gift - a gift we often take for granted until it is threatened."
Lecrae

Taking your clients for granted is an awful mistake and one that will come back to haunt you.

Unfortunately, and for many in sales when they get bit by the "complacency bug" it inflicts venom that takes salespeople down the path of finger-pointing and excuse making.

Taking your clients for granted is equivalent to shutting down your business.

Given the fierce competition vying for your client's business, they will not stick around for long when complacency sets in.

According to research conducted by Microsoft and cited inside the Nextiva blog - "100 Essential Customer Service Statistics and Trends for 2022, update: June 3rd, 2021."

"68% of people around the world have stopped doing business with a company because of a poor customer service experience."

Let's apply this quote to everyone in sales but with a twist...

Could 68% of your clients stop doing business with you due to a poor experience or lack of attention by you?

STOP GROWING YOUR COMPETITORS NEXT GREAT CLIENT!

"Success can lead to complacency, and complacency is the greatest enemy of success."
Brian Tracy

How do you truly know you are delivering value to your clients?

Depending on how you answer, then what types of experiences are you providing to your clients?

Are you really giving them what they value, need and desire more effectively than your competitors?

How sure are you?

It’s not a good idea to take your client’s loyalty for granted. Meeting their expectations is just not good enough. Your clients want to know you care.

I truly believe it’s more effective to act as if no one knows you or recognizes the value you bring because this will make you show it every day.

Would you know the last time you met with one of your clients and asked them, "What value do my services, products or solutions create for you?" I am waiting for your answer, still waiting, still waiting; this is what I thought - it has been a while or never.

I encourage you to think about this question "What does value add look like to your clients?" I bet your clients want to increase sales and grow their client base, correct?

Ever ask your clients, "What does a great sales and client experience look like?"

STAY TOP OF MIND AND PAY ATTENTION

Sustaining meaningful value in the minds of your clients requires persistence, extreme focus and radical attention.

Think about the following and now think about your clients:

  • What’s happening right now within their business?
  • What changes if any may be happening to them right now?
  • What problems may they be facing?
  • What difficulties are they encountering in their marketplace?

If you're not paying attention to your clients and spending quality business time with them, I promise someone else will. And when this happens do not be surprised by it.

YOU CAN'T GET NORDSTROM'S LEVEL OF ATTENTION AT WALMART!

Are you being viewed as sales rep who sells products and services or are you being viewed as a sales professional who enlightens, adds value, informs, advises, counsels, nurtures and becomes an advocate on behalf of their clients?

Experiences matter in a world full of empty suits

What are you paying attention to?

In today's complex and hyper competitive business environment, it’s the ideas, insight, information, help, and guidance you provide which will continually earn you the privilege of doing business with your clients.

I will leave you all to think about this...

Are you silently growing your competitors next great client? Would you even know?

One of the things I always stressed with my salesmen was to sit down either Sunday night or early Monday morning and put together what they wanted to accomplish this week. Every evening to put together their next day. Never...never come into the office and not know what you're doing the minute your feet hit

Art, you know I love ya like a brother but I have to agree with Larry on this one. I have very conservative values and I believe that the entity taking on the risk, gets to make the rules. Obviously, we have the choice whether to except them. You know as well as I do that print-4-pay accounts are tougher to finance. Why? Because they are higher risk. It has always been that way because relatively speaking, most small print shops have little invested and can close up shop in a heart beat

From: Lee Sent: 7/15/2002 8:42 PM I was playing around with some searches on the www some time back and found two Xerox 24ppm printers located at a major university in Great Britain. I was able to submit print jobs over the internet and watch the status of the controllers change from ready to printing and back to ready, read the counters, watch them increment, etc. Thanks! Lee

book so he can learn it. What a mess! As for setting the number of prints, you can also do it from the front screen, you just need to make sure the coalate box is unchecked. Since this is a known issue (the coalate box) hopefully, in time Ricoh will do something to simplify this for the customers within their drivers.

From: Docusultant (Original Message) Sent: 9/25/2002 8:53 AM I have spoken to our printer DSM at Ricoh, we were talking about scan router lite and macs. Yes, I realize it can't be done. However, he mentioned that the printers have the capability for IP printing? A few questions. 1. Could we plug an Aficio 1022 w/scan router lite and have the docs directed to the printer for IP printing? No, this is not a capability of any of the ScanRouter Products. 2. Is IP printing controlled by Smart Net

Re: Xerox DOC 12 vs 6513 Matchprint

rom: Graham Sent: 10/31/2002 6:05 PM I have a hard time believing that you are out of the ball park on the 6513 unless Xerox has done some major price reductions. I lost one with an E-820 to Xerox based on print samples alone (The print samples from the Xerox were from a system that and an additional $10K option installed on it NOT what they bought) now the customer is regretting buying the Xerox. We were lower than Xerox at DMAP6. Remember, you can use DMAP6 cost for Any print for pay customer.

Re: 3800C Fuser Yields

Art Post (Guest) ·
Art, The Fuser Unit yield is impacted more by the number of pages per set. The lower the number of pages per set, the lower the yield on the Fuser Unit. This is pretty much true with all Color laser printers on the market today, not just Ricoh. Hope this helps. Can We Do This?

Graham ·
From: ricohaficio (Original Message) Sent: 5/31/2002 3:43 PM Question: I have an Aficio 1022 w/Scan Router (full version) connected w Win 2000. I also have AP3800C on the network, is there anyway to set a destination ikon on the Scan Panel so that whe we scan a document it will print to the AP3800C? Or is there a way we can scan it to a folder and have it print as soon as it's recieved in the folder with no user intervention?

Scan Router Questions

Graham ·
From: ricohaficio (Original Message) Sent: 5/10/2002 7:14 AM This question was emailed to me from Shawn: If you want to email from a 1035, my understanding i sthat you need ScanRouter Pro and that you have to pre program the email addresses into the copier. In other words, you can't just walk up to the machine and randomly input various email addresses that are not programmed. Any validity to this? Thanks, Shawn

He had his little eye piece out and everything, was very happy... There is no comparison in the print quality of the 3800c and 3850c. I could not believe the difference in quality. Just FYI

3800 CMF Paper Supply

Art Post (Guest) ·
From: couchpotato Original Message) Sent: 12/20/2002 8:30 AM Why does Ricoh take away the LCT option for the 3800CMF? I know that when Printer only configurations are used it is available. Re: Page Numbering and Stamping

Art Post (Guest) ·
From: Ted Sent: 11/22/2002 6:28 AM I'm sure it would not have been difficult for Ricoh to put the same features, i.e. all the user stamp functions and booklet making mode on the 3800CMF. However, they still need a reason for us to sell the B (&W) 35cpm machines. Once they get the cost of the black toner cost down, the 35cpm, in my opinion, will become obsolete. You can easily cost justify the 3800CMF vs the AF1035 with all the extra you get. Just the cost of the Black is too high right now.

I believe that every instance is different and every customer will have a different outlook. This is why it is so important to make sure that a customer like this on this kind of budget has an opportunity to demo the system to see if it fits their needs. I should have

Remembering Industry Veteran Lee Rummage

I was saddened when I heard about the passing of Lee Rummage.  Lee was one of our founding members for the print4pay hotel.  Over the years Lee was the go to guy for me and other members of our site when we needed help for solutions and questions with digital MFPs.   I did a cut and past and please click the link to The Cannata Report.

Remembering Industry Veteran Lee Rummage
Editor’s note: Earlier this week, we received an email from John Sutton, vice president software solutions for Novatech, about the passing of his friend and mentor, Lee Rummage. Rummage spent 30 years at RJ Young and ten years at Ricoh as a technology sales specialist. Admittedly, Rummage was not on our radar, however, after hearing from Sutton and another colleague of Rummage’s, Joe Barganier, district business manager/dealer business consultant for Ricoh USA, it was clear that he should have been. As Sutton told us, “Lee was a consummate leader and consistent producer, but he never sought the spotlight.”
“Since 1991, when I entered the imaging and print industry, Lee Rummage was the best at what he did—software solutions, service, and the copier dealer model, Barganier told me in a phone call Wednesday afternoon. “I was fortunate to be friends with him. I have had the privilege of working with him since 2008 on MPS. He evangelized Square 9 and PrintFleet, and many of the software packages that dealers ultimately embraced. He knew the software inside out, and dealers across the country would call him for advice. He was the answer man. He even pointed out flaws to the software manufacturers. His influence was one of those quiet influences across the industry. He was low key and humble.”
We are honored to shed the spotlight on Lee today.
