Kyocera Discontinued Models?; Marco Product Line Question?

·
Is anyone able to tell me if the Kyocera Taskalfa C5052ci series has been discontinued? Is Marco Business Products a Kyocera dealer? If not, will they convert their acquired company's product lines to sell only the manufacturers they represent on their website (Canon, Sharp, KonicaMinolta, Toshiba)? Basically, will the acquired company no longer sell the Kyocera product line no that they are part of Marco? Thank you in advance!

We’re are using twain scan version 5 and papercut has been set to allow host based authentication from their end. Based on past experiences with embedded software , once a user logged into embedded it wouldjust open to the copier where they could scan with ecopy easy peasy.

Scanning on Canon 525if Machines

·
Just an FYI. I would do your homework and testing on this machine before putting it somewhere where scanning is important. We replaced a Samsung and added three of these to a lawyers office and they do no like the scanning much at all. Lots of jams so far. The feeder seems to be very sensitive to torn corners, creases etc. More so than any other feeder I've seen on a machine.

John, Does the user want to track scanning done on the ScanStation? If so, you would need to engage Ricoh and/or your PaperCut provider to create a ticket. But before I would do that, I would try the basics first, firmware up to date on the MFP and Java if it is installed on Java, then the latest version of PaperCut that is supported on the MFP. If they don't want to track ScanStation scanning, try setting the Authentication on the MFP to not require authentication for Scanning. These

where the market is headed and stop pushing what they deem relevant based on their stubbornness to change. There are still too many actors in the Imaging Channel weighted heavily with product centric mindsets. It’s time to re-evaluate how your sales teams go to market; it’s time to re-evaluate how you maintain and collect customer data, it’s time to re-evaluate the investments you are making in products on the fringes of the core deliverable. Dealers must be first in their markets to switch

Same Scam with a Different Twist

You would think after 50 plus years that the Toner Pirates would have disappeared my hearties.

One of my clients was approached via voice mail today in a phone message that was translated to text.  Thank goodness this old seadog spotted the scam right away when I viewed the email my client sent me.

In the old days toner pirates that gave no quarter.  Those pirates would go right for the jugular with the make and model of the copier.  The stating they are your copier supplier and prices are going up, so order NOW.  Many clients were duped for thousands of dollars of overprice generic toner.

I'm sure if my client picked up the phone the caller would have a great ahoy and used the same pitch that's been used for years.

Just maybe the toner pirates have lost some of their swagger because the message stated they were from Canon Business Communication. Which would raise the hairs on the back of my neck because they were calling on a client that had a fleet of Ricoh production devices.

The hornswaggler wanted to speak to someone in the office about the refill on the Ricoh MP 8320.  Of course my client thought that this might be legit call because they new the model number of the his device(s).  What I thought was unique this time around was "about the refill on the Ricoh MP 8320".  I've never heard is presented this way.

In any event the freebooter had no luck with this client.

Of course I had to tell my client the story of the toner pirates and how hey get the model numbers of the devices.  Yes, it brought back the memories when we hearing about toner pirates was a monthly occurrence because they had swagged a companies booty.
