I am already a year in in the copier industry. It's interesting to know that membership includes qualified leads.

I like the idea but not sure it would work for my role. I am an Account Exec in California. I have zip codes assignment but normally restricted to SMB space which can be challenging in terms of sales goals - you meet decision makers who pull out money from their own pockets and deals are typically one off, leaving me little to no room for expanded offering.........

this is the email I received from my customer: I was just informed by others that the Plot Works software that you have included in our deal, does not work with DWG files. Re: Can Plotworks print dwg files?

The Old 480 dwg option was just a file converter, it would leave the old file on the server and the customer would call in with complaints that it was coming up with out of memory errors because it kept all the old files on the server and not delete them, at least that was our experience. I guess I'm confused as to why the customer is not just printing the dwg files out of AutoCAD with the AutoCAD driver and all the rest of his files with Plotworks.

The Impact Of Confidence: How To Maximize Your Sales Results.

“Inaction breeds doubt and fear. Action breeds confidence and courage. If you want to conquer fear, do not sit home and think about it. Go out and get busy.”
Dale Carnegie

This quote by Dale Carnegie summarizes the essence of overcoming fear and doubt through action.

It emphasizes the idea that sitting idly and marinating on fears only serves to amplify them. When one takes action, even small steps of action, they begin to build their confidence and courage.

Most of us can agree, fear often stems from the unknown. By taking action, we confront that unknown. Each step forward, chips away at the fear, replacing it with a sense of accomplishment, progress and confidence.

Conquering fear demands that we step out of our comfort zones, face fears head-on, and seize control of our lives. This alone is one monumental step towards sales success.

Sales can be challenging. It’s definitely not for the weak at heart. It requires a laser focused mindset and heartset to really be successful.

Becoming a great sales professional requires confidence. The confidence and believability you have in yourself.

You must believe in yourself first.

Much of what you will achieve in sales, depends on how much you believe in your abilities and yourself.

How many of us, myself included, often lack self-belief during the times when we need it the most?

Insecurities in times of uncertainty and doubt, make us believe we're not capable of achieving whatever it is we've set out to do.

Sales professionals confidently take the risks that sales reps deflect and avoid.

With confidence, when was the last time you double-downed on yourself?

“When you doubt your power, you give power to your doubt.”
Honore de Balzac

Building sales confidence is about expanding your belief boundaries.

Cultivating self-belief and resilience, it's a powerful one two confidence boost.

CONFIDENCE IS CRITICAL

"Practice creates confidence. Confidence empowers you."
Simone Biles

In research conducted by Steve Martin for his book, "The Sales Strategy Playbook, The Ultimate Reference Guide to Solve Your Toughest Sales Challenges.", his goal was to gain an understanding of what’s really on customers’ minds.

In gaining this understanding, he asked these two questions,

What are their perceptions of the salespeople they meet, and how do they ultimately choose between them?

Check this out...

  • Only 31% of salespeople converse effectively with senior executives.
  • 54% of salespeople clearly explain how their solution positively impacts a customer’s business.

Are you shocked?

How much do you believe that a lack of confidence played a significant factor with these percentages?

When you speak with conviction and clarity, it shows that you’re selling with confidence.

Confidence comes across in the words you use, your delivery, and your body language.

How can your clients or prospects trust you if you don’t communicate like an expert?

If you struggle with self-confidence, your sales performance will suffer. You set low goals, if any, and achieve mediocre results.

Confidence makes you challenge yourself and push yourself, to achieve your goals.

You can increase your confidence by:

  • Valuing yourself
  • Finding your passion
  • Changing your mindset
  • Building genuine and authentic relationships

BUILDING CONFIDENCE

“Self-confidence is contagious."
Stephen Richards

How do you build confidence in a genuine and authentic manner?

Sales is about accomplishing a transfer of confidence.

Confident salespeople gain tons of credibility with their clients.

Let's think like an executive decision maker or influencer for a moment, if you suspect a salesperson isn’t all that sure of the value they’re bringing to you, how much confidence will you have in what they’re offering?

Conversely, the salesperson who exudes confidence and who genuinely believes in what they’re doing is contagious.

Allow me to muddy the waters for a moment... Why do so many salespeople skip ahead to product-focused discussions? Because that’s where they’re most confident.

They're the most confident in that arena because that's where the balance of their sales training has been guided towards - things such as product/service knowledge and sales techniques versus effectively listening for cues, asking more meaningful questions, building up their beliefs about selling and overcoming mental roadblocks to success.

This is aimed at sales leadership...

Are you helping your salespeople build up confidence in themselves and what they’re capable of doing as much as you’re helping them build up their ability to recite product knowledge and use their CRM system?

Confidence is a muscle. It is a mental muscle that can be worked and trained.

Allow me to share three thoughts with you in how you can build your confidence to maximize your sales results.

1. DON'T COMPARE YOURSELF TO OTHERS

The comparison game, especially in sales, is as old as humanity. Comparing yourself to others does absolutely nothing but place the power with the other person.

Channel the focus and attention on you!

Stop comparing yourself to every other sales rep's highlight reels.

The comparison game is a mental game and is a waste of your time. It mentally drains you, sucking the life right out of you. Seek to catch yourself and avoid comparison triggers, especially if the activity doesn’t add meaning or any real value to you.

The grass isn't always greener on the other side of the sales comparison fence.

2. INVEST IN YOURSELF

Hands down, investing in yourself has one of the best returns on investments.

The consummate sales professional takes responsibility in developing their gifts and talents to best serve their clients.

You must love yourself before you can expect your clients to love you.

Look in the mirror and repeat after me...

  • I'm worth it
  • I'm of value
  • I will create the best version of me
  • I'm a value creator

Lather, rinse and repeat daily.

Investing in yourself, it sends a powerful message not only to you but to the business community. When you’re willing to say 'YES' to confidence and invest in yourself, your clients and future clients will provide you with amazing rewards.

3. LISTEN TO YOUR INNER VOICE

A person’s view of their abilities, whether it’s accurate or not, also plays a role in their sales success.

Don’t let the voice or opinions from others squash your inner voice.

Dig deep, develop the courage to follow your heart. Get real with yourself and ask yourself tough questions. Turn up the inner voice and get radically honest with who you are.

If you can't get real yourself then how can you get real with your clients?

Those who don’t believe they have what it takes, whether it’s to make a strong first impression, engage in a business conversation or to move the sales ball over the goal line, usually prove themselves right.

Building your sales confidence is about expanding your belief boundaries.

Listen to your inner voice and accept you for you. Self-acceptance allows you to slow down, pay attention, and take note of what's going on inside of you.

Heartfelt sales professionals take responsibility for their choices and actions. They know they're the authors of their own sales lives.

YOUR HOMEWORK: BUILD YOUR CONFIDENCE

In today's business climate, confidence is king and queen, especially in an ever evolving and increasingly challenging sales environment.

Confidence ties right into your reputation. How would you like to be viewed by your clients and future clients?

I encourage you to develop a morning routine, ritual and reflection time.

Building a self-confidence routine may be as simple as spending the first 30 minutes of every morning in solitude.

Asking yourself these questions...

  • What am I grateful for?
  • What am I proud of?
  • What's my purpose?
  • What went well for me?
  • What lights my fire?

Projecting just enough confidence helps you gain credibility, makes for a good first impression and helps you to deal with pressure that comes with being a sales professional.

What daily confidence building questions will you ask yourself?

“Confidence is contagious. So is lack of confidence.”
Vince Lombardi

This Kyocera is the same machine as Copystar, right? One and the same. It's also a dual scan document feeder not single pass as far as I've researched.

places like real estate offices where image qualityand photos on presentations are important. In reality its quite the opposite as photographs print out looking superior to laser when you run the inkjet paper. Now the down sides: The number one downside is dealing with HP. They are their own worst enemy when it comes to getting a foothold with office equipment dealers. The ops panel compared to a Ricoh, Canon or other major manufacturer of MFPs is terrible. I should add that the web interface

Invest in Yourself and Get Outstanding Sales Results

First, I'd like to give kudos to the person on LinkedIn who made mention of "investing" in yourself. Can't remember who it was and it might have been Earl Everson. Earl, if it was you, thanks for giving me the idea to write about "investing in your sales career". If it wasn't you, I'll have to make sure that I thank that person.

Okay, first, I'm not much for doing videos. I like videos but don't enjoy seeing myself in them. Does anyone else feel that way? I guess I just like to write. Do you invest in yourself to further your sales career?

Investing in yourself can come in many flavors. Purchasing sales books, hiring a sales coach (something I never did, nor did I want to, guess I'm hard-headed), purchasing software, a new notebook, setting up a home office, the list goes on and on. One of the biggest investments you can make is in how to spend your time wisely. I recently caught a tip on LinkedIn that everything you do should be calendared. Setting a time for each task, whether it's 5 minutes or 30 minutes, will help you stay on track.

Throughout the years, I've never shied away from investing in something that will help me get better at what I love to do. One of my recent purchases is a Ricoh 65" Interactive Whiteboard and that is  $4K investment that I will turn into thousands.  The plan to is to develop videos using the board to help educate my clients on the benefits of having one, two or twenty!

Sales people

I'm amazed at how many salespeople in our industry don't make the investments that can lead them to the top of sales success. The opportunities are out there and a small monthly investment of only one hundred bucks per month or less can be the difference of always being at or above quota.

When was the last time you attended an industry event? When was the last time you wrote some type of content? When was the last time you used LinkedIn to increase your connections? When was the last time you posted something on LinkedIn? Why don't you have a client email list and send them educational content each week or each month? When was the last time you sent a client a thank you note for that recent order? When was the last time you gave a shout out for one of your favorite clients on LinkedIn? When was the last time you asked a client for referrals?

Most of the above questions only involve your time, why not take some time before or after work hours to invest in your sales career?

Constant Contact

Did you know that you can get a free 60-day trial for Constant Contact? After the first 60 days, the cost is only twenty bucks a month for 1-500 email addresses. Think, it's only 75 cents or so a day! If you ask, Constant Contact will actually do your first template for FREE. I've been using that same template for five years now. Once a week I send more than 2,000 emails to our Print4Pay Hotel members. Once a month I send to 30 of my top Stratix accounts. These are the accounts that I need to stay in front of. Out of sight equals out of mind!

LinkedIn Pulse

It's free! A place to write and share your blogs on LinkedIn. I know at least six people that write a blog each week on LinkedIn. Not me, because I do it here, but all of these people have kept at it week in and week out. Those people are now very successful and have developed some outstanding numbers of followers and connections. What's the key? Commitment, week in week out, set aside the time and don't stop after three months. It's a long-term commitment, but after 12 months, you'll probably gain thousands of connections and followers.

Video

Getting more and more popular every day. Still not sure if video is for me, but I've been toying with the idea. Check out Earl Everson, Larry Levine, or Dale Dupree; they've all made the time commitment and dedication to "keep on posting" (ah, that should be my line). Each one of them has thousands if not tens of thousands of connections. It's not easy, but what the heck in this life is easy?

You Owe it to Yourself

Why am I in sales? Have you ever asked yourself that question? I certainly have and the answers keep coming back the same.

  • I love helping clients
  • I enjoy solving problems
  • I enjoy making what I want when I want
  • I'm in control of my own finances

Make the investments whether it's time, a product, a book, a coach, a trip, software; it will be worth its weight in GOLD.

Five Things I Like about the New Ricoh IP C8500 Color Printer

Does anyone still make copies these days? I can't remember the last time I saw someone use the copy function on an office MFP (Multi-Functional Printer). More than ever, users are printing and scanning rather than copying. But does this mean the copy function will become obsolete? Nah, it's not going to happen anytime soon because there's a boatload of paper documents that may still need to be copied from time to time.

Thus, even if you're not a fan of printing on paper, Ricoh has taken the lead in making the new IP C8500 more eco-friendly.

  1. Cutting down plastic packaging by 50% compared to previous models, employing sustainable materials more extensively, and removing unnecessary packaging.

  2. Crafted with a low TEC value of 0.44 kWh, the IP C8500 is meticulously designed to excel in energy efficiency, thereby mitigating environmental impacts across its lifecycle.

  3. The new IP C8500 ships with starter toner that yields 12,000 B&W prints/12,000 color prints (ISO/IEC 19798). The standard high-yield toner cartridges have impressive yields, with the black cartridge yielding about 43K and each color cartridge at 34K.

  4. The IP C8500 will allow users to print half-size check plots because the paper tray will accept 12"x18" paper. Users can print 24"x36" drawings to the printer in half size. This will save paper, save time, and lower your cost per page because most inkjet plotters have a cost of 10 cents per square foot for black and 20-25 cents per square foot for color.

  5. The options, especially the multi-folder. When was the last time you saw a color printer with a built-in folding machine? A great feature for churches and companies that need to print bi or tri-fold marketing brochures.

These are my top five likes.

Bonus: Do not overlook the Ricoh print driver. There are many features that will save users countless hours of time. My favorites are secure print, hold print, timed print, and the ability to save print features as a program.
