4 Ways Mobile Printing Is a Plus for Your Business

Modern-day businesses are steadily moving to mobile devices for day-to-day business operations. Smartphones and tablets, coupled with the development of mobile applications, are making it easier for executives and management teams to monitor and make decisions on the go.

But mobile business tools are not only benefiting decision makers. Whether remote, hybrid, or in the office, employees are seeing increasing benefits from mobile applications. Many standard business softwares are pivoting to integrate with mobile interfaces. Common business applications that are choosing to span platforms include Monday.com, Quickbooks, Trello, Slack, Skype, and Zoom.

But it is not just meetings, project management, and accounting taking advantage of mobile and desktop flexibility. Intercompany communications are increasingly happening through chat, text, and mobile email. Companies worldwide are leveraging Google Chat, Zoom’s chat features, and mobile email linking to communicate day-to-day business functions or build relationships. Today, sixty percent of workers prefer to use mobile applications for work-related activities.

Here are four ways mobile printing is just one more mobile function that benefits employees and the office.

A Faster and More Efficient Way to Include Mobile in Business Processes

As more and more offices convert to remote-first or hybrid workspaces, many businesses are facing the dilemma of how to facilitate safe and efficient print functionality for employees. Smaller remote printers might be the best solution for fully remote offices and high-volume printing departments. But, for everyone else, mobile printing is a strategic, cost-effective option.

How many companies offer mobile print

With mobile printing, employees can take advantage of the days they are in the office. It is even possible to schedule printing from remote locations and trigger the activity at the printer. Remote workers can also send items to the office printer for someone to review. Even better, employees can print from nearly anywhere, including the home office, public transportation, meetings, and even trade shows.

Finally, rather than lining up at the printer or being subject to longer wait times on days in the office, mobile printing allows employees to have their items ready for them on the machine as soon as they enter the workspace.

Employees need access to printing capabilities when working in the office or at home. A report from Deloitte noted when the virus hit; people could bring their laptops home but had to leave their office printers behind. The result? Printer sales temporarily rose by $4 billion.

Now that workers have regained access to the main office, businesses can lower printer and supply reimbursements, answer employee needs for printing, and reduce the potential expenses of supplying remote office printers – all through mobile printing.

Mobile Printing Can Improve Business Security

Like any technological function in a business, printing has its security vulnerabilities. The most common problems include misplaced or lost documents, remote access to documents on printer hard drives, and using printer ports for backend access to company servers. Fortunately, the latest mobile printing applications can help reduce or remove many of these issues.

One of the most common security issues, misplaced or lost documentation, is quickly resolved in-office by implementing measures that only allow print jobs to run when the authorized personnel is overseeing the task. And providing accessible printer options through mobile helps deter employees from resorting to the use of unsafe consumer printers.

The purchase and ongoing maintenance of office printers can add up fast. And attempting to provide on-site printing for every remote office, while ideal, is not going to be a feasible option for many businesses. Fortunately, mobile printing capabilities can offer the opportunity to lower capital expenditures or monthly leasing costs by reducing the total number of machines needed to provide employees with accessible printer options.

A consolidated printing configuration also has other financial benefits, such as consolidating printer management, maintenance, and supplies. In addition, with fewer locations for shipping, service fees, and monitoring, incremental expenses and time spent will be significantly reduced.

As an additional benefit, mobile printing’s ability to help reduce the number of printers required will also lower electrical usage over time. Ricoh SP W2470, Why I Can't Sell Them!

untapped. A market where there are 3 to 8 employees and all they need to do is print. They are out sourcing some 40 - 80 prints a month and can't afford payments of $296 and they are buying ink plotters whether HP or Canon. It would be nice to capture these customer also. My general opinion is that Ricoh Wide Format is resting on their laurels with the Ricoh SP W2400. Their concern was to not capture more TDV, but to hold pricing similar to the outdated technology of the their competitors. And, while

other manufacturers. Also, on a couple of the devices we cannot see the web page of the printer even though we can ping to it and print to it. At this account I am also having a problem with the PS driver for a Ricoh MPC4500. They are using windows authentication in active directory and when we send a print job using the ps3 driver, it acts like the job has successfully gone to the device but it never shows up. Art, The business plan for the 2400 was created by someone who is no longer with the company, and now is run by people who think they know the market and what it needs. A business when not managed properly will eventually end. Can't live on the past forever. What a shame, Ricoh WF business has gone from the other group, to #1 Marketshare in the US, to...guess we will have to wait and see.

Drink Water Before you give a speech, deliver a sales presentation or make phone calls - drink one to two glasses of water. It lubricates your vocal chords, helps your voice and gives you needed fluids that you lose while speaking. Lukewarm water is best. Cool water is OK. Ice water is not good for your vocal chords. Avoid dairy products because they create phloem in your throat.

Well, Some of the features that help me sell eCopy are... Direct integration with other applications (imaging packages mostly). eCopy has "connectors" that allow you to drop documents directly into over a hundred packages and you can even do your indexing at the copier. Exchange/AD authentication. With eCopy, first, I have to log into my network. As long as I'm a valid user on the network, I'm a valid user on eCopy. Then when I click "to" I can see the entire Exchange user list. When I type Sh

This is a plug n play (UpNp) problem. I solved my issue by disabling UpNp at the server, however you can turn it off at the print also, login to Web Image Monitor and disable SSDP, you may be able to do it from the panel but I'm not sure. I havent seen this problem on the printers but I have on the new MFP's. I would be interested in knowing if this fixes it.

We tried turning off SSDP at the printer but that didn't fix the issue. The customer is going to turn off UpNp at their server and hopefully that will take care of it. The other issue I spoke about was the postscript problem and windows authentication. Any thoughts on this? By the way, Thanks IT Dude for your help.

You are welcome, and I believe that authentication is not officially supported by Ricoh using the postscript driver (only rpcs, and pcl). I will try and get a confirmation on that, and get back to you.

Are you communicating your purpose, your vision and your plan?

YOUR SALES LIFE IS TOO SHORT

You deserve a career where you have a sense of purpose and a vision that guides you. Sales professionals don't leave it up to their company or their management team. It is up to you to define what you do with your sales career.

  • Know what motivates you
  • Find a mentor or a business coach
  • Self-reflect and crave self-improvement
Purpose and vision create clarity.

Clarity creates freedom. It removes the roadblocks, even the mental ones.

To bring all of this to fruition, you must gain a simple understanding of what you want and how you will reach your destiny.

Clarity becomes high octane fuel to vision and purpose. If you aren’t clear about your "WHY and HOW” you will never lift your vision off the ground.

Clarity brings to you...

  • A sense of direction
  • A sense of meaning
  • A sense of passion

It is a different business but we have had a local IT company successfully make the jump to copier business and since they control the network they have a strong advantage when it comes to selling the MFP to put on that network. well Sharp was announcing a number of new dealers recently this could be a play to be a Dealer only org in the US. come to think of it why are OEM's in the business of selling anyways? You would think OEM's would adopt a dealer structure like the Automotive industry.

Less than 5% of my Toshiba clients are not under a Maintenance Service contract. Toshiba sells lots of kits designed for trained service techs to install but not typical end users. Even those customers who prefer not to be invoiced for monthly meter reads we try to automatically collect the meter reads via email or fax and usually but them on copy blocks.

As you've said for years, the Imaging market is at crossroads. - Acquire other dealerships and achieve economies of scale? - Position the dealership on other markets? The only bad solution would be to deny the reality. Therefore, the accountancy is always right. And your EBIT definition makes sense.

We did a HP webinar last week on the transition and it seems to me that HP doesn't have a clue how BTA copier dealers operate. I think they think BTA dealers are going to sell HP branded service packs and then chase reimbursements for service calls and parts from HP. If that is the model they plan on having us dealers use they will fall flat on their faces.

Oce PlotWave 450 Scan Question

I'm reading the brochure for the OCE PlotWave 450/550. On page 9. I'm reading that the device will scan 47.9'/minute. Rounding off we get 48'. Thus to find the speed of inches per second I need to take 48x12=576 inches and then divide that by 60 seconds for a speed of 9.6 inches per second. Is this true? If so, that's really fast when compared to other devices. Can someone clarify?
