Arcoa Group

Why partnering with ARCOA makes sense
Electronics Recycling is an important and profitable part of the IT asset lifecycle, but it can be overwhelming with all you already do, varying state regulations, and the limited resources at hand. That’s where ARCOA comes in. When you partner with ARCOA, you get all the benefits of a big company without any of the capital investment. We’ve been doing this since 1989 and have the expertise, certifications, and nationwide resources to get the most for all your clients’ retired IT assets. Plus, positioning your clients as environmental stewards not only elevates their appeal to consumers, it meets government requirements and avoids fines.

What partnering with ARCOA looks like
Our role is to make it easy for you to bring more value to your clients. We work with you to help stretch your clients’ IT budget by reducing the total cost of ownership of their electronics. We’re experts at identifying and implementing the solutions your clients need for the end-of-use remarketing, recovery, and recycling of their technology assets. The sooner you involve ARCOA, the sooner you and your clients.

Ricoh Wide Format Solution Guru's

I'll admit, maybe I couldn't see the ocean through the fog when I pummeled the new Ricoh W2470 printer over Ricohs pricing. In four recent appointments for wide format, I was asked about color scanning on three occasions. This got me thinking, I don't have an all in one box for wide format color scanning, mono printing and copying. However, not many of my competitors have these either. The OCE TDS 450 combines a scanner and printer along with the Xerox 510DP. I then asked myself why can't I

I would put the memory in and see what happens, it could be that the scanned images (copies) are much larger than the print file. The unit scans to memory first for copying and then starts to print. Let me know. Samsung should have released a firmware update at this time for the job accounting feature. This was also a feature that we had problems with.

Sorry Art, I guess I was a little vague in my explanation. I actually scanned the test sheet into my PC with our 3800cmf at 300dpi then just sent it as a print job to the Samsung. So far we haven't been given a price on the memory upgrade. Still waiting for it. Building Community Creates Sales Sustainability... Are You Building Thriving Client Communities?

"There is no power for change greater than a community discovering what it cares about."
Margaret J. Wheatley

Have you taken the time to discover what your clients TRULY care about?

Your clients make up a community. Call yourself the mayor of your community. Now, ask yourself... What have I done to bring my people together inside this community to form kinship and comradery?

Yes, you heard me correctly, kinship and comradery.

Are you a collector of people and a builder of community?

I would like for you to think about that statement, now think about your clients... How effective have you been in building a sense of community with your clients?

I recently read, "Lead Like Walt - Discovering Walt Disney's Magical Approach to Building Successful Organizations"

There is a section in the book that referenced Walt knew his people well. For a moment, I ask you to think about your clients and follow along with me...

"Walt was constantly walking around, engaging in casual conversations, and getting to know his people as individuals. What are their goals? Their passions? Their hobbies? What books do they read?"

By showing an interest in his people he learned they have ideas, interests and hidden talents.

What are you collecting about your clients?

What do you know about your clients?

CLIENT COMMUNITIES AID IN BUILDING TRUST

The Senior Manager of Communities at Zendesk, defines client communities as such...

"A customer community is an online or physical space for customers to connect on a regular basis to have conversations, answer questions, and share ideas and information."

Are you bringing your clients together to meet each other, engage with each other, and to share ideas with each other?

Research conducted by CMX, a company providing a platform for the exchange of ideas and resources, went on to say,

"86 percent of community builders believe that having a branded online community will positively impact core operations, while 85 percent believe it will improve the customer journey and increase trust."

Let's apply this quote to your clients, and now do I have you thinking about the importance of client communities?

Building client communities fosters trust building. Now, think about where trust sits inside the sales world today, it is not good.

Bringing your clients together to engage allows people to interact with you, your team and your company to provide input and feedback which opens the trust building door.

To build trusted client communities, you must be willing...

  • To engage in meaningful conversations
  • To be massively transparent
  • To do what you say you will do
Trust enables salespeople and their clients to effectively work together

BUILDING COMMUNITY CREATES SUSTAINABILITY

"Communication leads to community, that is, to understanding, intimacy and mutual valuing."
Rollo May

You see, all your clients have at least one thing in common, and it is you. Conversely, many have other things in common as well, such as job title, corporate challenges, hobbies, and possibly even life experiences.

So, let's think together for a moment... What would it be like if you became the connector, the relational bridge-builder, and figured out a way to connect all of them, that in turn; brings real value to them?

What could possibly happen?

What would this mean to you?

What impact could this have to your sales sustainability?

We defined a client community, now let's unpack the word "community". We will refer to community in a sales context, let's use the following definition from the Oxford dictionary:

"A feeling of fellowship with others, as a result of sharing common attitudes, interests, and goals."

Here lies a question for many of you...

  • Are you creating fellowship with your clients?
  • What common interests and goals do you have with your clients?

I believe to build a real community with your clients, not only do you need to care about the community, but you also need to care about and respect each other.

You need to be loyal to one another and build healthy relationships.

How many of you have built community with your clients?

Creating a community around you and what you do takes work, however; the road taken to grow one will have lasting benefits for a long time to come.

CREATING COMMUNITY IS VITAL TO SALES GROWTH

Dean Ornish nails it by saying,

"The need for connection and community is primal, as fundamental as the need for air, water and food."

In the crazy, challenging, and competitive world of sales... how do you stand out from all the other salespeople who do the exact same thing as you?

Sales professionals future proof their business and reputation through the communities they build with their clients.

When we are active participants in a thriving community, we feel a sense of kinship, camaraderie and connectedness.

Plato once said,

“The part cannot be well unless the whole is well.”

Communities take care of their members and vice versa because they are invested in the collective success of the group.

Stop and think about that for a moment... They are invested in the collective success of the group. Are you and your clients invested in collective togetherness?

Sales professionals create community through insights, trust and net-weaving.

INSIGHTS

Knowing what your clients really think of you, what you do, and how you have helped them is what dreams are made of.

Building communities with your clients bridges relational gaps.

Gather your clients together and listen to feedback, listen to what they are working on, listen to their challenges and foster an environment to openly share ideas.

Client communities can also help you to see your product, business, or industry from the perspective of the very people you’re selling into.

"The best vision is insight."
Malcolm Forbes

TRUST

Continually communicating in a transparent and personal way with your clients, you’ll improve trust, belief, and faith in you.

In a post trust sales world, building client communities bridges the relational divide.

Stephanie Buscemi, the former CMO of Salesforce, explains...

“Specific to tech, there is a trust crisis. That’s why it’s so important right now to have a community who are speaking authentically on their own experience and doing it in their own words. It’s no longer enough to have a great product or service. You have to build a deep relationship with your customers. No more pitching or preaching. It’s about having a conversation.”

Imagine for a moment.... Could an unfiltered communication channel with your clients help to strengthen your relationships?

Your clients will start to feel heard, recognized, and rewarded, and from there, trust will grow exponentially.

NET-WEAVING

For sales professionals, developing client communities helps them to cultivate connections and comradery between like-minded individuals.

As an example, consider developing a financial community, a technology community, a human resource community, and a leadership community. Now, think about harnessing the collective knowledge of these communities to foster learning environments.

You all have heard of networking. All me to introduce you to net-weaving.

Weaving is the craft of lacing fibers together to make fabric or cloth.

Now imagine what would it look like if you wove your clients together and their networks?

What could you unpack?

What could you learn?

What sales opportunities could you uncover?

Through community, this brings your clients together to meet like-minded peers, to further their knowledge, and to feel more positively about you... and a place with no added noise, no ads, and no social algorithms.

EVERYONE BENEFITS

Imagine for a moment... a client community who share things in common, care deeply about each other, and work closely together for betterment or a purpose... imagine what kind of harmony you could create.

Ultimately, developing community with your clients creates a greater sense of belonging. It powers innovation and ideas along with the ability to deliver new insights for you, new prospecting ideas, and sales growth opportunities.

Close communities are based upon care, compassion, and connection. Are you creating this for your clients?

Are you creating a space for your clients to connect and collaborate?

As humans, we crave a sense of community. Our mental health and our physical health literally depend on being part of strong and capable communities.

I encourage you to take massive action to strengthen and sustain your community.

Copier Leases Unlimited Pages "If it sounds to good to be true"

Copier Leases Unlimited Pages "If it sounds to good to be true"

Just happened today and I tried to explain the pit falls to a current client that's believes working with a new vendor was advantageous because of unlimited page for black and color prints. Thus I thought i's time again to renew the pitfalls of many copier leases.

Unlimited Pages

The thought of unlimited black and color pages is extremely inviting. The client thinks that getting one price per month for the lease and the unlimited page is a GREAT deal. It's my belief that most if not all of these agreements should be a NO Deal. The reason for this follows.

In most cases you will pay more per month for the lease and unlimited pages is because the dealer or the manufacturer builds in fail sales to protect them so they do lose money (yes dealers and manufacturers can lose money if the client makes too many black or color prints). Thus any dealer worth their weight will put clauses in the lease contracts.

  • Annual escalation of the monthly lease payment with as much as a 25% increase per year (on average I see 15%, but have seen 25%). Many clients told me that the sales person stated there is no escalation, well you need to read the fine print of the lease. In most cases you will see the clause in the lease of the maintenance agreement"we may increase the cost". WE MAY means WE WILL. Read the fine print and if you're unsure contact someone like my self who can explain the ramifications.
  • Everygreen clause means if you don't notify the leasing company or the dealer of your intentions at the end of the lease. The lease could increase for another 12 months or the entire term. I've seen it. READ the fine print on every document that you sign!
  • Additional fees for toner delivery, help with scanning or printing because your copier is on the network and those services are not included in the maintenance agreement or lease that you signed. READ the fine print on every document that you sign!
  • Poor service and support. The thought of a cheap price is long forgotten after poor service. Many copier companies after COVID are trying to do more with less. Many have lost technicians (retired or when on to bigger and better things), those dealers and manufacturers that lost those people are not capable of replacing them because the copiers of today require more technical expertise than years ago.
  • Dealership of Manufacturers Culture was exposed during COVID 19. Many furloughed or laid off employees which ruined the culture of those companies because employees who needed the jobs were tossed out. Thus those that are still with those companies are taking the paths of silent quitting. Are these the types of companies you want to be associated with?

In the end most unlimited page agreements contracts are made to protect the dealers or manufacturer and not the client.

Feel free to reach out to me if you need help or have questions

Why You Should Consider Different Types of Paper

Why You Should Consider Different Types of Paper

Today’s economy has most businesses on an active search to save money. But in their quest to cut expenses, some companies may make the mistake of using the wrong paper for their printer or project. However, the type of paper used for printing matters far more than many believe.

How much paper is wasted in offices

Improper printing paper can lead to several problems for a business. The wrong paper for a project could mean something as simple as an unprofessional look. When presenting to clients, paper copies of charts, slides, and proposals must be visually and texturally appealing. If printed materials are miscolored, smudged, or at bargain quality, it could lead to a loss of sale or partnership – and a missed opportunity to expand revenues.

But beyond presentation, using the incorrect paper in a printer can create office inconvenience and even damage expensive machinery. Rollers encountering unnecessary friction from courser papers are more likely to generate paper jams. Long-term exposure to added resistance will lead to increased maintenance and the added costs of replacement rollers.

Similarly, using inkjet paper with a laser printer or vice versa can cause significant problems. Inkjet paper won’t hold up well to the heat of a laser printer, and laser printer paper is not designed to absorb ink. The result is highly likely to cause printer damage.

But how can office managers and IT know what type of papers are needed to produce the correct result? To do this, it is essential to know the different papers available and their typical uses.

Types of Paper Make a Difference in Project and Performance

The final product, when printing, often depends on the type of paper used. For example, using premium glossy paper helps enhance the appearance of a document and make it last longer. Each type of paper has unique features that make them the best for specific purposes. Here is a list of many of the most common papers and their everyday use.

  • Bond – Bond paper is a “text weight” paper made with cotton rags. Historically, it was used to print government bonds. Today, it is considered an all-purpose design for brochures, stationery, and other materials that need to hold clear color. Compared to standard multipurpose paper, bond paper is generally more durable.
  • Cardstock – Trading cards, flyers, and business cards are all frequently printed on cardstock paper. This paper is exceptionally thick and robust, making it ideal for even paperback book covers.
  • Copy – A thinner, budget-friendly option, copy paper is a go-to for many offices. For text-heavy printing and generic copies, copy paper is an excellent choice to save money on print materials. However, its thinner, less durable structure can quickly become highly oversaturated if used for producing images or rich color.
  • Recycled – Recycling is not necessarily a specific type of paper but more an aspect available on multiple paper products. Some government agencies or businesses require presentations and proposals to be presented on recycled paper. There is no right or wrong time to choose recycled paper. However, it is often more expensive because it requires additional manufacturing.
  • Photo Paper – This paper is best used for printing high-quality images on inkjet printers. It usually comes in a glossy or matte finish. Glossy finishes are generally the least expensive and most common. However, a matte finish will diminish reflective qualities and potential fingerprint smudges.

Why Should Businesses Care about the Type of Paper Used for Printing?

Different types of paper can add to or diminish the effectiveness of individual projects. Inkjet versus laser printer paper is one of the best examples. One is specifically designed to produce vibrant images. The other is created for speed, efficiency, and heat resistance.

Bond paper is an excellent resource for business presentations and client materials. But vellum, a type of bond paper, wouldn’t be a good fit due to its semi-transparency. Modern vellum is also treated with plastic, making it ideal for decorative projects than a business setting.

Ultimately, offices must choose their types of paper based on everyday office needs. For example, some companies will require higher-quality presentation-style materials. Still, others are more likely to require plain copy paper for fast and efficient printing and internal use. But businesses that leverage sales and marketing should avoid cutting printing budgets too drastically when creating materials for current and potential clients.

Paper Quality Requirements are Highly Dependent on End Goals

Most items printed in the office setting last less than a day. Memos, emails, and other standard office items don’t usually require much more than inexpensive copy paper. Why waste money when most printed materials end up in recycling?

However, items like legal documents or other printed materials for long-term files require paper that will stand the test of time. Higher-quality papers with thicker weaves will hold ink and toner better and are less likely to deteriorate over time. Bond papers, for instance, can be purchased in weights and textures built to withstand the test of time and travel, whereas copy and multipurpose paper may prove less durable.

When deciding where to cut printer paper budgets, it’s crucial to remember the types of printers and printing the business uses. Fortunately, experienced office printing partners can help monitor and evaluate printer use and requirements to help companies to make better print budgeting decisions. In addition, consulting with a managed print services or printer maintenance company can provide much-needed insight into the types of printer papers and materials available to help save money without damaging printers, disappointing clients, or otherwise impacting office efficiency.
