Why Won't Ricoh Bring the CW 1200SP Color Wide Format to US Market?

Get ready for a rant!

I'm so sick and tired of the pitiful job that is being done with Ricoh Wide format group!

The Ricoh W3601 which is now three years old plus (with no update in site), the bundling of Plotworks, a way over priced Color CW2200SP wide format and the aging W5100 and W7140.

Believe it or not, wide format is still driving consumable clicks for dealers. AEC companies still need to print, check plot and delivery full scale plans on a regular basis.  Ever try to view and use building plans on an ipad?

Thus today, I was cruising through the Ricoh.jp site.  What do I see?  That in Japan, they offer a CW2200SP  (36 inch wide color) and the CW1200SP (24 inch wide color).  Come on PPBG, get your act together with wide format or higher me to run the show and I'll bring Ricoh Wide format systems back to it's hey day!

Fact #1, Ricoh CW2200SP can't compete with the likes of the Ink based 24 inch wide format models.

Fact #2, many of my customers/prospects and many others only need to produce a max size of 24x36.

Fact #3, the CW2200SP is grossly over priced (wholesale and MSRP).

Don't get me wrong, I like the Ricoh products.  But the recent intro of the Mimaki color wide format printers is not going to save the day!

Here's what we need:

1.  CW1200SP here in the States

2.  Dump Plotworks and leave it as an option

3.  We need a 4 ppm toner based Wide Format here in the US with a more attractive MSRP. You have it in Euro market, why not here?

4.  We need the ability on all of the toner based products to scan or print from USB or SD.

5.  We need to have Ricoh ICE available for all of the systems.

Should I go on?  I'd rather not.....I'm done ranting!!!
