Mark Griffin, product manager with Ricoh UK explains how Ricoh is developing new technology to give Copy-shop Printers a competitive edge. The pressures on the Print-for-Pay sector are well known. Huthwaite calls these buyers “low reactors.” Some people are “natural” low reactors, but sophisticated buyers often train themselves to wear a poker face. In fact, the higher the stakes, the more likely it is that buyers will deliberately curtail their reactions. For most salespeople, a negative response from a buyer is actually

The onlu thought I have is to send the print job in locked print mode, then walk to the copier and interrupt the copy job. Then select printer, input your lock code and........... let me know what happens, I think it'll work this way. I do not know of any way to stop the job from the desktop unless there is a way with SNM? How bout? Anyone have any ideas? Art

Art, We have an idea that a couple of us drummed up on the way home today, via cell phone...Go into user tools and select Print mode as the priority mode for the copier. Then have the administration settings on the print controller changed to show the Print mode as the priority there as well. I'll let you know what we find. By only selecting the Print mode as priority in the user tools of the copier, we would get the receiving print job light to flash, but it wouldn't light the print button and

I have sold two of these so far. I am very impressed with the digital photos I use as print samples when selling CL5000, 1232, 3800. I think they actually look better than 5000/1232 but not quite as good as the 3800. My two cents anyway. Jayson

Art: The 8031 does have the IP711 Print controller option along with the Fiery X3e option. Prints up to 140lb index, 12x18 full bleed, scan-to-e:mail, Tiff, Jpeg and Pdf scanning. The most impressive items is the quality and the booklet making finisher w/saddle stitch(2-3 hole punch also!) My dealership doesn't have any CL7000CMF's in stock yet, so I can't really compare. Personally, the 8031 has much better quality than the 3800CMF, but hasn't been around long enough to test reliability! Hope

I do not have any in the field that are connected to the 1105 or 1085. However I have three in the field that are the "stand alone systems" and they work great! Also I had the opportunity to see the SR90 today at Ricoh Corp in NJ. It looks great and works great. All saddle stitching can be selected from the op screen. Signature, Directory and Legal folder worked good for the few booklets that I made. Rumor has it that the puncher will be available soon!
