Savin 4018d auto paper tray switch

Have a Savin 4018d on demo. Has print/scan/fax - have checks in second drawer - problem - when 1st drawer runs out of paper on a print job or fax job - it auto switches and pulls a check. Don't have this problem on copy because we turned auto tray switch off - any suggestions on how to resolve this would help us win the deal. Thanks in advance!

No response when trying with the RPCS driver, and when the PCL driver is used, it works, but very slowly. A 3-page document spits out each page about a minute apart. Go to “user tools” and select the second cassette for “special” paper. When you print the checks from the print driver you must select “tray 2” and “special Paper”. Under no circumstance will anything copy, fax or print from this cassette, unless you select “special”.

Page Retransmission

I have a customer who wants to be able to have his fax print all of his incomming messages and then forward the message to another fax. The FAX3310L lists "page retransmission" as a feature. Is this what I am looking for? Or could this be done just using fax forwarding? Thanks in advance for the input. Tyler

Re: model space or paper space from AutoCAD.
I just called one of my higher volume 470 customers and asked him the same question. He did confirm that "all plotters" will print from both model and paper space. To him, it seemed like a silly question coming from someone that should know AutoCAD. Maybe the intern needs to go back to school. Close the deal and spend the $$$

Gregg: There is no attachment from Ricoh or any other third party vendor. All you can do is change the feed tires (they should be replaced every 200K), you can also instruct the customer to fan the envelopes, run them at a lower speed (60 cpm). If paper is feeding ok, do not try to adjust the feed timimg. Envelopes were always a problem, however repalcing feed tires, running the system slower and only insterting 40-60 envelopes at a time may increase the reliability. Art

Go into the print driver and change the tray options from Auto Tray Select to Tray 1. This will force the device to pull from tray 1 only and won't switch to tray 2 (since it's not auto selecting. I had a similar situation and we actually loaded one print driver for normal tray 1 printing and then loaded a second driver (for the person who printed the checks) so it was defaulted to tray 2. We changed the driver name to say 2018D check printer or something like that... Hope this helps!

Does anyone out there have any information about Embedded Software Architecture? Any tech mans or tutorials? What about a pn# from Ricoh to order the SDK/J? All I have been able to find are a general brochure and white paper. Thanks for any info and help!
