Real Copier Sales

To Art and all that have helped, this is a small token of appreciation for the p4p hotel. I was working with an IT manager for a MAJOR TV Station in my area. It became a very technical situation which stemmed from just a printer solution call. the IT Director wanted to replace printers that were runing from a black box so that a job could be parallel printed onto 6 printers. As a result of everyones input; sucess stories, and guidance, I was able to turn this into a total workflow solution. read more

Kyocera vs. Ricoh

·
For whatever it is worth, here is how I sell Kyocera and Ricoh.... In the Kyocera line, there are really only 5 Black and White machines that I personally push, those are the middle segment systems KM3035-KM4035-KM5035 and KM4530 KM5530. They all come in at much lower price point and service costs as the Ricoh 2035-2045-1055 systems and the 55 has scanning where the Ricoh does not. Ricoh still has it up to 27ppm and 60ppm on up both from functionality and service cost though. Pricing is pretty

If you want to beat an IR C3200 with the Ricoh, simply pick a sample file that has a solid blue or purple background and have them automatic duplex the prints. The Canon will leave little white specs on the second side of the print. Also, have them do a photo original off of the glass. The Canon does not have a good scan quality off of the glass. Good selling!

Bridman, What are iron on transfer sheets? I haven't run across those. It sounnds like it could be an untapped market for me. Also, to add to the conversation a little. the new 32/38 seems to outperform the canon and Xerox from multiple application standpoints. Cost, Quality, Ease of Use. I am in a small satellite office for my company and use a 338, I have been running it through its courses and it seems to work great. Also in the field, we compete everyday against the other companies B2C

FASB13 and copiers

dclaterbaugh (Guest) ·
I am in a competitive situation that the criteria to meet a true operating lease is a must. They are currently utilizing a 48 month lease with a 36 month out to meet this criteria. Obviouosly, accounting based on a 60 month useful life rule. However, I think I have seen a document or information stating that copiers can actually be on the books for up to seven years. Which would allow us to use a 48 month lease with no out. Any thoughts or information?

AP3800CD Printing White Letters?

·
. Obviously, the printer assumes you're usually printing on white paper and just sprays no colors in that section to leave it as white, but, again, is there a way to actually print white?" Is there a way to manufacture the color "White"? Let us know...

Printing Seperator Pages 101

·
I have known for years that we can print a seperator page between jobs if we want. I actually now have a customer who wants to do this. I tried it out on the 1035 in the office using the RPCS and PCL drivers. I selected the seperator page button in the driver setup, browsed, and it found some .sep files on my laptop. (I run XP). Now here are the real questions. One, when setting up seperator pages on a WIN98 PC running Office 2000, when I browse, it doesn't find the .sep files like on XP

Importing Fax Destinations to 2035e's & 2238

·
I have a customer that we sold 6 2035e's and a 2238. They want to be able to import (or push)the fax destinations to the machines from a master list. I know this can be done, but don't know how it is done. Also, they want, when there are changes (additions), to keep the destinations in alphabetical order. Let us know on this one. Thanks...

I too would like any information on where people have had success against the Canon 3200c. We've tried everything from 3800's, 3850c's, 1232c's and the 2238 (Ricoh). What is your strategy when coming head to head? CPC is most of the problem. But one or more tricks seems needed.

No, there is no "white toner" for any color copier/printer I've ever heard of... But I have had several customers across the years call and try to order it =) There is no way to do what this customer wants with any of our devices.

Re: New 31 PPM color

bmiller (Guest) ·
Art, when you say RICOH put panels on the box, what exactly do you mean. Is the control panel going to maintain the RICOH look, or is it stuck with TOSHIBA? What were your other thoughts on this. I haven't had the opportunity to see one yet from RICOH. In my neck of the woods Toshiba is doing very well and I haven't even seen one in the field. Does anyone have any input. I think the model number is the e-studio 311c by TOSHIBA. Thanks for everyones input!

Hey Folks, If your going to punish a ricoh "printer" engine for volume on normal paper stock ( not color critical) this engine is the one to use.

I started COMPTIA's A+ and Network + program back at the beginning of the year, and plan to test for certification by the end of the month. I stardted using the ricoh cbt's for CDIA about 2 weeks ago and am on disc 3 of 4. All of this training has proven to be usefull because of the territory I have. I am certain that certification , and having the ComTia logos on my business card, emails and stationary will be of great help getting appt. With the product line and company I represent I am

Re: OCE 7050, Can anyone help?

Jason, I believe there are 6 square ft. in a "D" size print. That would put the yield of the toner cartriges at 1,916 "D" prints. The developer lists for $441.47 and the yield would be 25,000 "D" prints. The wire($31.04 corona, $27.76 transfer wire) (blade $331.08)and drum are 32,500 "D" prints. A drum lists at $972.40 and are generally replaced when the developer is replaced.

What program are we trying to print from? I printed white letters on a 3800CD from Microsoft Publisher by changing the bakground of a text box to color...then changing the letters to white...

Re: AP3800CD Printing White Letters?

That didn't actually print white letters, it printed the color background and printed nothing where the white lettering needed to go. To the best of my knowledge there is no real way to do what you want to do Ted. Sorry!

Re: Aficio 6513 problems

bmiller (Guest) ·
I have never heard of these issues. I have placed alot of the 6513's in heavy graphic enviornemtns and have not had any things like this. Also, our company has a print shop where we have 2 hooked up to a TR micropress that runs probably 30 - 40k per month each on, and they have been running great. I am interested to know how this pans out, could you keep us posted Brad?

Re: Scan Router Pro and Windows Server 2003

Sorry my last post wasn't so clear. Scanrouter lite/Pro will install on Xp or 2003, But it will not allow you to use a mapped network drive or a shared network folder as the destination target. There is a white paper form Ricoh on this. It relates to the DCOM protocall and changes that Microsoft made to the OS. I really could use a work around if anyone has found one!

. It also seems that all of Corp America is pulling in IT to help them make choices on "copier" vendors, or they are given that responsability altogether. This makes them an important target in every account we call on, and if we don't do something to be very different we will pay a heavy price. I have spoken to a great many IT people and told them what I was going to do, and why. They all agree that the certification in these diciplines won;t get me the order, but they will get me opportunities.

grahm, That is very intersting. Have you found any distinctions in the b2c markets between the two manufacturers. Also, does kyocera offer reps incentives beyong lower price points? Take Care, Brian

Re: Booklet maker

I was just reading the Sales/Marketing Manual for the 1060 yesterday (man, I have no life) and it says that the booklet maker will fold one page without stapling, but will not fold multiples without adding the staples. Hope this helps! Brian

Re: Kyocera vs. Ricoh

I pretty much agree with Graham except in the lower end. I can sell a KM 3035 for the same price as the Ricoh 2022 and holded the same margin. Plus I have a lower cpc than on the Ricoh 2022. This becomes a no-brainer for the customer. Plus I have place a few KM 6330's and they work better than the Ricoh 1060.

Does the Ricoh booklet maker allow you to do a booklet and fold it without a staple?
