encompassing both Konica and Minolta for the full-year. That showed an estimate for a net profit of 23.8 billion yen and sales of 1.133 trillion yen, up 4.2 percent from the previous year. Konica Minolta has been cutting costs and bolstering its lineup of colour copiers and printers as it aims to enter the top ranks of office equipment makers, including industry leader Canon Inc (Tokyo:7751.T - News) and Ricoh Corp (Tokyo:7752.T - News). -copies mode, document production was an off-line task. Great numbers of survey respondents said how much they appreciate being able to print to a device that has copier-style speed, document handling and document finishing. Ironically, the penalty of offering such capabilities to the rank and file is that the machine may become overloaded, especially if the customer starts to remove office printers. Sales and account teams should help their customers anticipate changes in usage, and be ready to

Phil: There are many threads on the hotel that are pertinant to your question. go to your find button, then click it and then enter: Take a look at these: Is there anyone out there selling CPC on the 3800 and the 3800 CMF units? We have ran over several scenarios of how to bill it so the customer can use the CMF as a primary B/W copier as well as color and none seem to work out all that well for either the customer or service.... Anyone doing this? If so, how are you billing it and pricing it

Despite speculation, Xerox sees no retail push
By Franklin Paul NEW YORK, Jan 29 (Reuters) - Xerox Corp. (nyse: XRX - news - people), on a high from its improving financial picture, is offering a wide range of new, pricey printers, but analysts suggest it may eventually reenter -- perhaps indirectly -- the consumer retail market. Earlier this week the office equipment company debuted several new products including the Phaser 8400, a $1,000 color printer aimed at small- and medium-sized businesses. (PS Emulation has been proven to work well in most cases, HP has been using emulation for years in their printers)Ricoh wants a premium for the Adobe PostScript of close to or over $1000, Kyocera gives you the emulation for free As it relates to the 4035 specifically: Less efficient duplexing (thanks Merlin) The Kyocera actually has a shorter duplex path No 100 DPI scan 100 DPI Scan quality is poor at best on th Ricoh Only

than the copiers can be by themselves when lease, service and supplies are all taken into consideration. If a duplicator can provide a value add without adding to the cost, then you have just eliminated much of your competition...especially Xerox and Canon.

Ricoh Aficio 3006 upgrade
Gregory (Guest) ·
Was the Ricoh Aficio 3006 a 2 bit, 4 bit or 8 bit system? Will a 2232 be a good upgrade to a 3006? The client makes copies of magazine articles. Exact color is not critical, but a good, professional image is. I did not do much with the 3006, so I am not familiar with it. When that product was being marketed I had Canon as well, and you can guess which color box I was in front of at that time.

That is awesome. I assume this cpc is based upon 100% yields from the supplies. Are you aware of any Ricoh dealers who are providing an All-Inclusive (with supplies) cpc programs for their customers for the CL7000, 1224/1232 or the new 2232/2238? My dealership is extrememly reluctant to do so and we are losing business everyday. I am currently in a deal against Konica, and they have quoted a cpc of .10 for full color. Thank You, 5 Stroke Philbeck

Graham, I think I totally took what you did above, exactly the way you delivered it. This is AWESOME! We need to hear that, and that information can be extremely powerful. I just got off the phone with the client and they are going to see the KM mid week, next week. He took a meeting with me (RELUCTANTLY) for Monday morning at 11am. He wanted me to fax my findings (NEGATIVE!). I am at least going to set the stage for an extremely difficult presentation for the competition. On top of the fact

Just got our 2238c set-up. It is basically a CL7000 CMF in a shiny new box. Mechanically Identical (as far as we can tell so far) Can’t see much differences other then ACS and the advanced scan/print/fax features discussed earlier. It sits pretty high with 4 paper trays. More to come

Our test set included an even split of bitonal and color images and 200 dpi and 300 dpi images, and we also threw in a few grayscale images. We

Re: 8 Bit to 2 Bit Color

That is a good explanation of what 8-bit and 2-bit mean, however both the 6513 and the CMF7000 have 8-bit color. They both print 256(8-bit) gradations of each color (CMYK). The 8bit vs. 2bit distinction comes in when scanning. According to the CMF7000 spec sheet it has a 2-bit scanner, the 6513 spec sheet says it has an 10-bit scanner. Theoretically the Print quality should be very similar to a 6513, but copy quality should suffer. There are 10 types of people in this world... those who

Jason: I was always told by my DSM that the CMF 7000 was 2 Bit Color for printing (and we know DSM are always right) . However, when I printed color photos from the CMF 7000 and the 6513. The customer actually liked the way the photos printed better on the CMF 7000. We used the 1200 dpi mode and set the profile to SWOP. The was a definate drop off in the quality of the color copy.
