I started the Print4Pay Hotel (the web site) back in 2001 with a web forum back in 2001,  The forums that you see today started in 2003, and in less than six months we'll have captured twenty years of threads about our the copier channel.  Our site is not dedicated to press release (even though we post them), however the heart and our soul of the Print4Pay Hotel is our forums.  Today we still remain the only site that allows office technology aka copier professionals to share in information in a secure format.  Special thanks to all of those that have contributed over the years and future thanx to all of those that continue to share, collaborate and gain friendships.

should be no extra incentives, incentives should be for taking down Xerox, Kyocera, OCE, Canon, Sharp, Toshiba and the rest of them! I have many thoughts on why Ricoh Americas Corporation is letting RBS do this. Here's a few for you: Top Ricoh Management (this includes Sam, Tom & Larry) have no clue what is happening in the street, they are so far removed from the day to day occurrences and no one has the gumption to tell them what is going on. One of the differences between RBS and independent reps is that the RBS reps probably have direct access to all of the promotions and programs that Ricoh offers where pretty much everyone on P4P only has access to those things passed down by their ownership. I guarantee that many here would not even know about DMAP6 cost for non-profits and local govt's because of US Communities if it

Printing Sets out of AutoCAD: IF they want to generate sets from their desktop out of AutoCAD, they can do this by setting the HDI driver custom properties to “create set from PCWIN” and have PCWIN loaded at that workstation. PCWIN will launch at the desktop and the DWG files (converted to PLT files) will drop into PCWIN. From PCWIN, they will indicate the number of sets they need and send job to print. All processing is done at desktop when printing sets this way.

Re: New W2400 pricing!

My biggest concern is the lack of acknowledgement from Ricoh that color scanning is going to be a big deal. I've already lost a couple of deals to Kip's color scanning capabilities. They've actually been able to beat my price on the 240W with color scanning capabilities included on theirs. I'm not sure what Ricoh is thinking with the discounts to WF only dealers and not to full line dealers. Seems like another way for the dealers to fund Ricoh's market share expansion. My dealership bought up a

As more is passed along to me, I will share as much as I can so we can have a heads up and be able to move these moves once they hit the street! iR5000i help please

I have a loyal customer that bought several Canon's from me when I was with IKON. Now that I'm gone they are not getting the support they once were. They have a iR5000i that they can ping, printing works, and the RUI works, they can even scan to an email. But...if they scna to a folder, like they have for 4.5 years, it gives an error. If you go to the RUI and look at the job log, it says error code 755. Any help would be appreciated

Re: Email 2 Ricoh America Corp about RBS

Just food for thought on this subject, I mentioned the current RBS tactics to my father at dinner tonight and he thought it would be reason for a lawsuit. I have to listen to his advice because his business is administering corporate class actions and corporate bankruptcy. I could see in the not-too-distant future the independent dealers coming together to fight Ricoh for their predatory pricing behavior. What a horrible way to protect market share? There are a couple of things you all should know about this unit. First it will not receive letter and legal faxes! I over came this by convincing the customer to use fax forward2email, this worked fine, plus they have digital copy of the file. Second, it seems that no one can get the job accounting feature to work. After talking with Samsung they are admitted that the system needs a firmware update.

same problem that has always existed, too many gready owners. RBS doesn't have this problem. They are being funded by a much larger organization and aren't worried about overhead. I also can't believe that RBS isn't using the DMAP registered accounts in their own lists. I used to work for CBS, most of my named accounts were given to me by top management. I always wondered where they got the information from, especially since 90% of them already had Canon equipment from a competitor. As a dealer, we

Yes I do work for RBS. I have never seen any information being fed from Aficio league or DMAP info from dealers, nor have I ever heard of it happening. I do understand your concerns however. I use "fictitious" info when I register my sales.

Re: Sales Tips

Art Post (Guest) ·
Displacing a competitor from their accounts can be a very difficult task. At the same time, displacing a competitor can be very lucrative for salespeople and an extremely profitable way for your company to increase its market share. To be successful, salespeople should be careful in their approach and message to the competitor’s client.

So you believe Ricoh is making a huge database too. We are smart for aligning ourselves with RBS...I believe that they will cut off the smaller indpendant dealers and for a while there will be only large dealers and manufacturers. How long have you been with RBS...I have been here just over a year. Well how do you get your leads from your RBS? A few of the older guys here said ricoh used to have hot leads that they would get from corporate and they brought stuff over from previous dealerships

Re: SR842 options

You can definately install the BK5010 with the GBC...I have done it. 2/3 HP option and GBC installed together are more redundant than anything. There are ways you set it up to default to one or the other, at least there is in the 90_105 models. See attached for further reference and look at the highlighted area. Shoot me an email if you'd like the entire SIG, if you do not have it....

Re: Rumor Mill!

I have heard the same thing but Ricoh and Cannon where included with HP as potential buyers. Which would stand to reason as Ricoh or Cannon neither would fair well if they lost that type of distribution channel. Of course if they did I suppose that Ricoh would love us (independent dealers)then???????????

Is Lexmark in Trouble?

Art Post (Guest) ·
After Lexmark's announcement on July 9 that its financial results for the second quarter of 2007 will be lower than expected, some pundits are painting a dim picture for the printer OEM. A Forbes.com article puts the source of Lexmark's troubles plainly: "Today, however, Lexmark’s woes have nothing to do with a tech bust. Simply, customers are not buying Lexmark products." The company expects earnings per share for the 2Q to be in the range of $0.62 to $0.67, including an expected tax benefit
