Folks, I am working on a big deal for (4) 2105's (4) 2090's and (4) 1060's. Xerox is the incumbant here and they are pushing a 2101 which I am not familiar with. It is supposed to be the 1010 redo but if anyone can help with this, I will be in your debt. Competition is Canon and Xerox. John

The only thing that I heard at the end of last year was that Xerox did away with their wide format sales force and just have anyone selling wide format...never had it confirmed as true or false though. I wish Kip made all other wide format systems period....they are such pieces of junk

I have a customer interested in a IS450DE VRS scanner. Is anyone familiar with this machine or have they sold one where they have had to configure it. Yeah, I agree the high volume for B & W has erroded to nuttin! However Canon has those 2 million drums and the fact that they use a mono componet toner delivery.

I wish I could...but there is alot riding on this. Ricoh is working on it, and if they can do it, it would be worth it. The biggest problem is that they would want to see it in action before they bought...so I was hoping for a decent solution that wouldn't involve cost. Are you still trying to find a converter for it John?

There are no laser based wide format color systems out there from the major manufacturers. If there are, they are price prohibitive. What your customer would find would be a couple of systems to meet his or her needs. Oce has a TCS400 system which is a separate scanner, controller and printer. They can scan the color document and direct it to print on the inkjet printer. No doubt an expensive output solution because it is ink based. Probably looking at the $40,000 range for this one. From a good source: A Xerox client has had the system for a month are not happy! This user has seen more calls in three weeks than they had in the last 6 months of their old system (Doc 12). HELP! Please. Print shop looking for color wide format. What kind of equipment do print shops use for this stuff?

Can Anyone help this guy? I have an order in for a Ricoh JP3000 Digital Duplicator. The machine is in and all accessories, but the color drums are on backorder. It has been over a month now and still cannot get an ETA on them. At this point the customer is getting very upset and I cannot get any support from Ricoh. Anyone experiencing the same issue with the color drums or does anyone know how to get 3 of them?

There was a post about a week ago that said that Konica now has Bates Stamping on their mid volume machines. I think it is a software solution for them.

Also keep in mind that not only are they saving administrative costs, but they are also charging their clients for the service which they will probably continue to do. The combination of these two factors may be able to make a case for a 2090 when the volume only necesitates a 2045.

FYI on the 2090/2105 Bate Stamping Solution. You cannot currently have both the Bate Stamping and Scanning available at the same time. They end up being mutually exclusive. Ricoh is trying to create a workaround or resolution.

I had not heard of it either. But I did a search, and came up with this website: http://www.unicode.org/ So it's a real thing. But still don't know if Ricoh's support it. Apparently Ricoh doesn't know either. They are "looking into it".

Hello Neighbor, The only product in our toolbox which can accomplish this task is the Ricoh Aficio 2090 with a software upgrade patch of some sort as it relates to product. There may be a software solution that enables to the sequential bates stamping from the PC, from the scanned image. Hopefully, someone else can shed light on this topic.

You need to go to the P4P sight and do a word search. There have been several discussions regarding Bate Stamping. In a nutshell, the 2090 and the 2105 are the only units with Bate Stamping from Ricoh or anyone else. However, we have successfully sold "Bate Stamping" on lessor units using a compination of User Stamp and Page Numbering. The best way to accomplish this is to get a sample from them and then replicate it it for them on the 2045. Don't try to do it for the first time in their office

A customer has tried to run the Avery #5884 gloss stock on the 1224SP and has failed. Smearing and dark bands. I suggested that the customer change the paper setting to "cardstock", change the quality to "High" and select the "DTP" quality setting. I have sent an email to Avery to find out what the stock is made out of. Will report when I hear from them.
