This Week in the Copier Industry 15 Years Ago

Has anyone installed this on an MP8000 and how does it work? I was told by a Ricoh Digital Support Specialist that this is what I needed for a client who wants to set copy codes and copy limits for each code. Looking for feedback. How hard is this to install? Does it install on the copier directly. Thanks, John

They want their staff and students to be able to print to these. They would like user codes set up on the mfps and to have each computer have a unique user code. Yes, it installs on each machine. You will need a Java card installed on each copier before you can install it. It is not that hard to install, although one issue we ran into was that the latest version of the software seemed to not install, we had to drop back one version, then it worked just fine. As far as how it works, from the customer perspective, they get to the copier and it asks them for a code and they enter it and then can use the copier as normal. One limitation of the User limits
