I tried all these tricks to get the software to recognize the envelope tray, but to no avail. There is a glitch between the software and the printer. Ricoh's suggestion was to bypass the envelope wizard, and have customer type out addresses in Word, and then print to the envelope. You know as well as I do that if a customer can't go to the wizard, their not going to do the extra steps to print to an envelope, they'll just go to another printer. We ended up having to pick up the printer and

Interestingly Ricoh has added the high end Kodak products to their booth in a "Strategic Alliance Program" Ricoh sells it and gets a finders fee, Kodak gets all the salel, install, service , and aftermarket, what a deal, where can we sign up...lol The same will be happening with IBM in the future, or maybe IBM management blended into Ricoh, Savin, Lanier Management...Just what they need another group of senior useless managers... That's interesting. Does anyone know if Danka is going to be selling these nationally, or just regionally? Interesting enough, I was in training for PrintFleet today, and this product was discussed as a big threat.

Re: Sales Tips

An important part of selling is to keep track of the ratios and numbers so you can understand your pipeline and improve it. How many calls does it take to get an appointment? How many appointments does it take to get a sale? And so on. Eventually, you'll find that it generally takes 10 calls to make an appointment and 10 appointments to make a sale, for instance. Then you'll realize that if you made 1000 calls last month and made $5000, then you'll want to make 2000 calls to make $10,000. Once

Suppose you make 100 calls one month and get 20 appointments for the next month, but that next month you're busy going to appointments so you didn't make any calls -- how many appointments will you have on the third month? None. That's because you didn't feed the pipeline. Of course, if you've done any sales already, you're quick to realize that If you made $20000 in sales this month, it's because you made 2000 calls last month. Or something like that. That's the sales pipeline in reality. You

Yep. My feeling is if their printing enough envelopes to need an envelope feeder, they should buy an HP. For 1's and 2's out of the bypass, ours are okay.

MAC & PostScript

·
It's my understanding that it's necessary to have PostScript in order to print from MAC. My stupid question is in a mixed environment can you configure a work-around by printing through a PC setting it up as a shared printer? I don't think so, but I don't want to be adding thousand dollar PS options unnecessarily. Thanks!

Duplicators Gone Wild?

Art Post (Guest) ·
Hear yee, Here yee, "duplicators are dead". With cpc's eroding lower and lower, and the onset of hi-speed cheap ink printers will digital duplicators go the way of the horse and buggy? Mike Scott of DRYPrint http://www.dryprint.com/ tends to think that SeriPrinters may move Digital Duplicators to a niche market for production printing! rest of blog is here http://mfpsolutions.blogspot.com/
