The Week in Copiers Five Years Ago

Third Week of February 2016

It's 7:20AM and I've been awake since 5AM because of our anticipated snow storm in New Jersey. As I write this the snow is coming down heavy and I would say it;s about an inch an hour.  I do enjoy the snow days because they give me a chance to finish up odds and ends along with prepping for the next few days.

Enjoy These Awesome Copier Threads from Five Years Ago this Week

We are all too familiar with the age old saying, "People love to buy, but hate to be sold." Re: Losing is the Key to Winning!

Love it. This all played out in full between the first post and today. I lost a deal to a competitor that I truly have never lost an MFP to. I had my typical pissed off time period where I pretty much hate everything and anything and asked the customer the reasoning. He said the church board laid the proposals out and took the cheapest one. I will log everything in my CRM and follow up in 5 years. This is the second time I've lost the deal but I keep going back. I wished him luck and went on...

Better to look at Oce, Konica Minolta or Xerox. It's a tough sell, but I think p4p accounts are better off investing into high quality production equipment even if the volumes aren't there. They will be able to provide high quality, high variety and fast turn-around to their customers which ultimately will help grow their

DUDE! Where's my Copier?

·
where's my copier", should never have to be a phone call that you'll have to make in the future. Copiers companies that are on the ball will present you with an iron clad SOW (Scope of Work) on how and when it will be done and what's expected on your end and their end to make this happen. If the company you're dealing with does not present you with the SOW for the return then you'll need to move on to the next vendor. Just an FYI, all of this should be discussed when meeting with the copier

Re: Ricoh & Epson = "perfect together" NOT!

We don't sell the Epson, I do hear that many Ricoh wide format dealers are looking to change. The W3602 is due out something this spring, Ricoh is waiting to exhaust inventories on the W3601. I have not sold a W3601 yet this year and believe I only sold a handful last year, I used to sell at least a dozen a year. The W3602 will have the GUI as the color systems and many of the same features, sad but the GUI and the MFP features will still put us way behind with the likes of KIP Oce
