I think it would be pretty optimistic to say that they would now need 100 individual devices.  I think realistically anyone under 35 that isn't in HR or Accounting isn't going to need nor want an MFP in their home office.  Use your Iphone to scan to PDF if you need it.  Everything else comes up on your monitor or tablet.  I would love for this to be an opportunity but I think it's more likely to become the breaking point where clients finally invest in their digital document management.  Which may be a whole other opportunity but really the start of the end for the printed page.

I think Ray is right again.  There’s no future for the dealer in the home. These devices are sub $100 new.  Not sure A4 solves all...I think it’s more about the device the dealer is willing to service versus the actual device itself. Let’s be real...People don’t give two sh**s  about what prints their paper, they just want someone to fix it when it breaks.

The home/remote has never been something our industry has focused on.  Back the eighties we had to walk away from those home based businesses and small businesses that were buying the Canon PC10s and 20's.  Right now he manufacturers are grasping at straws and just throwing **** up on the wall to see what sticks.  However there may be some management opportunities if the current trend keeps up with everyone who was in the office now having their own print device.  That print device will be owned by the company thus they may want to look at who can print or capture what while they are in the home.  I'm not concerned about the revenue for supplies but believe we can sell management programs to our clients to manage these printers.  Maybe think of it this way.

If a company had 100 employees in the office prior to COVID19 and lets say they had a fleet of 15 print devices for all 100.  Now the company will have 100 print devices that will all need consumables, support, security and a replacement strategy.  That's going to be an issue and maybe the question we need to ask is how are they supporting all of these new devices?
