Every Morning Sales Professionals Reflect And Recharge Themselves With Ikigai.

"Lose an hour in the morning, and you will spend all day looking for it."
Richard Whately

We all know that in order to maintain peak performance, achieve remarkable success, and to lead a positive sales lifestyle then we must recharge ourselves regularly.

There is a great saying:

“You charge your phone every day, why don’t you do that to yourself?”

Our mind, body and energy function just like smart phones. We need to recharge ourselves from time-to-time to prevent burnout but also to maintain healthy work performance.

How you start your morning dictates how you feel, act and decide the rest of your day.

What does your morning routine look like?

Having a morning routine is mission critical to your sales success but deciding how you spend the first hour of your day is what sets the tone.

“Let the first hour set the theme of success and positive action that is certain to echo through your entire day. Today will never happen again.”
OG Mandino

THE FIRST MORNING HOUR

As humans, we're wired to seek out meaning and purpose in our lives.

Today’s selling environment is turbulent, full of turmoil and just a bit of uncertainty. It's much more challenging and complex than ever before.

All this said...

Are you recharging your mind daily?

Are you self-reflecting daily?

“The soul usually knows what to do to heal itself. The challenge is to silence the mind.”
Caroline Myss

The truth is that many in sales are so busy trying to move forward with their lives that many rarely take a moment to slow down and be at one with their thoughts.

In my opinion, self-reflection and recharging are some of the best ways that you can shift your mindset, increase positivity in your life, and discover a greater connection to yourself.

I am huge believer in morning rhythms and routines.

It's not where you finish your sales day, but how you start your sales day.

Capture the first hour of every morning with purpose, or the morning will capture you!

CONNECT TO YOUR PURPOSE EVERY MORNING

Serious sales professionals capture every morning with a sense of purpose.

  • Have you ever stopped long enough to think about your purpose in life?
  • Have you ever stopped long enough to ask yourself... why am I in sales?
“There is no greater journey than the one that you must take to discover all of the mysteries that lie within you.”
Michelle Sandlin

DISCOVER YOUR IKIGAI

According to Japanese culture, everyone has Ikigai. It's the value that one finds in their life or the things which make someone feel their life is valuable.

In Japan, millions of people have Ikigai, a reason to jump out of bed each morning.

Ikigai, it’s often translated as “a reason to wake up” or a direction of life that makes it worthwhile. Finding your Ikigai is a continual process of self-discovery.

Ikigai is seen as the convergence of four primary elements:

  • What you love (your passion)
  • What the world needs (your purpose)
  • What you are good at (your vocation)
  • What you can get paid for (your profession)

Imagine for a moment... every morning you spend the first hour in solitude with pen and paper in hand, answering the four primary elements of Ikigai.

Don’t force yourself to come up with answers all in one sitting. It's called a morning routine for a reason.

Every morning take notes as ideas and insights come to you. This is the time to be radically honest with yourself. Don’t be afraid to jot down whatever comes into your mind.

"What comes into your mind, comes out in your life"
Craig Groeschel

Discovering your own Ikigai is said to bring fulfillment, happiness, and make you live healthier and longer.

IKIGAI, LET THIS BE YOUR MORNING GUIDE

Start viewing your morning Ikigai as your morning compass. Align your actions with the “thing that lights your fire” helps you to navigate the sales ups-and-downs.

I encourage you to recharge, reflect and rely on your morning routine. Integrate Ikigai to steer you in the right direction.

Here are a few more morning routine questions to reflect upon...

  • What do I want?
  • What is the meaning of my work?
  • What is my sales purpose?

SALES PROFESSIONALS CREATE ROUTINES

Truly successful professionals are achievers, and their routines are their roadmap.

"We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit."
Aristotle

A morning routine... it is about allowing yourself to begin your day with confidence, peace, and a positive attitude.

In order to live with a sense of sales purpose, intentionally capture the morning. Connect to your core values, your personal mission, and to the quiet voice inside of you.

Try reconnecting with what matters most each morning.

“How you spend your morning can often tell you what kind of day you are going to have.”
Lemony Snicket
