JEFFERSON - The finance committee for Jefferson schools heard updates Monday on the 2011-12 school budget, the Jefferson High School renovation and expansion project, and a proposed printer and copier contract before going into closed session to discuss the possible sale of district property.
The Finance and Operations Committee of the School District of Jefferson Board of Education first heard from representatives of IKON, the district's copier vendor, which brought to the panel a proposal for print management services throughout the district.
A key goal for the district in this area is to increase efficiency by minimizing the use of color printers in favor of color copiers.
Panel members favored having as few as one color printer per school, with the others replaced by less-expensive black-and-white printers. Where necessary, staff members would be encouraged to use color copiers versus color printers, which cost less.
The panel forwarded the proposal to the full school board.
